About
MY NAME IS SandI Barrett and I am passionate about nutrition and wellness.

My name is Sandi Barrett, and I help individuals and families improve their health through practical, evidence-informed nutrition and wellness strategies. My interest in nutrition began in high school, when I first noticed how different food choices affected my energy, focus, and athletic performance. Supporting others in their health also started early, as I encouraged a close friend who wanted to feel healthier by joining her for regular bike rides and early-morning workouts. Those experiences sparked a lasting curiosity about the connection between food and well-being and shaped how I think about accountability, encouragement, and realistic goal-setting today.
My wellness journey has also included significant challenges. A serious car accident resulted in a lifelong foot injury, numerous surgeries, and extended periods of limited mobility. Before the accident, I enjoyed running and competing in 10K races, and when running was no longer possible, I sought a new form of movement and eventually found endurance cycling. That transition reinforced the importance of flexibility, resilience, and finding sustainable ways to stay active, even when circumstances change.
I hold bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and mathematics, as well as a master’s degree in education, and I taught middle school mathematics for 15 years. Drawing on that teaching experience and a longstanding interest in health, I returned to school to earn a nutrition degree, became certified as a nutrition and wellness educator, and registered as a dietetic technician. Through Barrett Nutrition and Wellness, I provide individualized nutrition and wellness coaching, workshops, and educational presentations tailored to real-world needs. I currently facilitate nutrition demonstrations at Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis, lead nutrition workshops through Saint Louis Community College Continuing Education, and collaborate with individuals, community groups, and organizations that wish to host nutrition workshops or presentations in their own settings.
